07-04: Continued Funding for MSU Programs

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Montana Association of Conservation Districts, along with the Rangeland Resources Executive Committee support the continued funding of the Undaunted Stewardship Program, Montana Sheep Institute and the Skeen Institute are essential programs to the state of Montana, which assist ranchers in improving management practices and innovative ideas in agriculture.

07-03: Requiring Transportation Corridors to Accommodate Landowners Who Need to Move Water

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that transportation corridors are required in order to accommodate water users who need to move water for Agricultural and Municipal uses.  MACD is directed to work with Montana Department of Transportation, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, Montana Department of Agriculture and other appropriate entities/agencies to alleviate problems with moving water through or under current road and rail ways and encourage the use of Montana’s waters for Agricultural and Municipal uses.

07-02: Support for Keeping Treasure & Sanders County FSA Office

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Montana Association of Conservation Districts (MACD) engage the assistance of the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) and actively join in the effort to keep the Treasure & Sanders County FSA office open for service to the producers and to the community.

07-01: Wildfire Management

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Montana Association of Conservation Districts at its November 14, 2007 annual meeting urges the Forest Service, Congress and the President of the United States to consider a revised policy which includes immediate suppression of fires in a watershed drainage in drought years.
