WHEREAS, The Undaunted Stewardship Program, Montana Sheep Institute and the Skeen Institute are essential programs to the state of Montana.
WHEREAS, all three of these programs are facing potential funding reduction or elimination during the 2007 Farm Bill Appropriations.
WHEREAS, all three programs employ many people that are dedicated to research, sound management practices and innovative ideas in agriculture.
WHEREAS, the loss of these programs would have a negative impact on the agriculture and the land stewards of Montana.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Montana Association of Conservation Districts, along with the Rangeland Resources Executive Committee support the continued funding of the Undaunted Stewardship Program, Montana Sheep Institute and the Skeen Institute are essential programs to the state of Montana, which assist ranchers in improving management practices and innovative ideas in agriculture.
Montana Association of Conservation Districts is encouraged to support these three essential programs to the State of Montana by submitting letters of support to Senator Max Baucus, Senator Jon Tester and Representative Dennis Rehberg, urging all congressional delegates to support the continued funding for these programs.
