For the February meeting, the Education Committee continued exploring the possibilities of a marketing plan for Montana’s Conservation Districts. Laura Johnson from the Washington State Conservation Commission presented steps that the Washington State Conservation District took to create their Elevator Pitches, marketing toolkit, and more.

December 2020 Board Meeting Minutes

The MACD Board of Directors met on December 14th for their regular meeting via Zoom. Topics discussed during the meeting included:

  • Merged 2021 Budget
  • CARDD Budget
  • Chair of Water Resources vacancy in the Water Committee
  • Rolling Rivers Trailers
  • Floodplain and Soil Health Resolutions
  • The LAHC will be meeting weekly during 2021 Legislative Session. Meetings open to all members.
  • SWCDM Board will function as the Program Committee (PC) until new committee is established. There is a call for nominations to the Programs Committee (PC).
  • 2021 Annual Convention in Great Falls.
  • Monthly Conservation District Roundtables

MACD Annual Business Meeting: November 18, 2020

The MACD Business Meeting was held virtually over Zoom on November 18th, 2020. Topics discussed during the meeting included:

  • Merging Montana Association of Conservation Districts, a 501(c)(4) and the Soil and Water Conservation Districts of Montana, a 501(c)(3)
  • A Resolution for the Study of Erosion on the Flathead River
  • Approval of of Bylaws for the New MACD
  • A Resolution to Have MACD and NACD Work Nationally on a Coordinated Program for AIS Prevention
  • A motion to Stop Basin Adjudications by the Montana Water Court
