Resolution Season is Here: Updated Deadline and New Resources
MACD’s 2026 resolutions process is underway, and districts have additional time to prepare.
The deadline to submit new resolutions and sunset challenges has been extended to September 1, 2026. This extension provides districts more time to review the list of policy statements scheduled for sunset and consider any new proposals.
If your district is developing a resolution, we encourage you to notify MACD as early as possible, even if it is still in draft form. Early communication allows staff, the MACD Board, the Resolutions Subcommittee, and legal counsel to provide timely review and feedback.
MACD has also released an updated Policy Book, which includes:
- Current policy statements, legislative directives, and national directives
- Updated resolutions process and timeline
- Information on the 2026 sunset review
- Linked original resolution numbers for easy reference
All new resolutions will be distributed to Conservation Districts for consideration by September 15.
Visit the Resolutions Resource Center to access the updated Policy Book, submission forms, sunset challenge information, and additional guidance.
