2026 Area Meetings: Resolutions and MACD Board Elections
As conservation districts prepare for the 2026 Area Meetings, districts should review the draft resolutions submitted for consideration and discuss any resolutions that may affect their district or conservation work.
Resolutions for District Review
There are 12 draft resolutions being considered this year. One resolution is still pending final approval from its sponsoring district.
While districts statewide are encouraged to review and discuss all submitted resolutions, resolutions are only voted on by districts within their originating area during the Area Meetings.
Districts that have not yet had an opportunity to take a formal board position are encouraged to review the materials and contact MACD staff if they need assistance participating in this year’s process.
The current draft resolutions, including available legal and subcommittee comments, are available on the Area Meetings webpage. Printed copies will also be available at the meetings.
Districts may also contact Madi or Rayelynn with questions, comments, or suggested amendments before the meetings.
MACD Board Elections
Seven MACD Board seats will be up for election during the 2026 Area Meetings.
- 1 current board member is seeking another term
- 6 seats are open without incumbent candidates
Serving on the MACD Board provides an opportunity for conservation district supervisors to participate in statewide association work and help represent Montana’s conservation districts.
District supervisors interested in a board position, or who would like to learn more about the responsibilities and expectations of serving, are encouraged to contact MACD staff before the Area Meetings.
