2026 Call for Resolutions and Sunset Review

The annual call for resolutions is open! All districts in good standing may submit resolutions for consideration at the 2026 Area Meetings and Convention.

Resolutions play a critical role in shaping MACD’s policy direction and advocacy efforts at the state and national level. Although MACD does not take positions on draft resolutions prior to membership consideration, staff are available to assist districts by reviewing drafts, answering questions, and providing feedback throughout the resolution development process.

The Resolution Sunset Process is as Follows

  • All resolutions that are five years old or older as of the 2026 Convention will automatically sunset unless challenged by either a district in good standing or a MACD Resolutions Subcommittee. Challenged resolutions will be voted on by the full membership at Convention and, if passed, will remain active for another five years.
  • The MACD Resolution Subcommittees (Soil and Land Use, Water Resources, and District Operations) are currently reviewing all resolutions scheduled to sunset this year. A full list of resolutions up for sunset and committee recommendations/challenges will be sent out during the last week of June.
  • Individual districts in good standing may also challenge scheduled sunsets through the form below.
  • Please note that sunset challenges may not include any amendments to the resolution. If a resolution is still relevant but changes are needed, districts should submit the revised version as a new resolution rather than challenge the sunset of the existing one.
