23-05: Resolution to Support the Governor’s Recommendation to Exclude Grizzly Bear Encroachment Into Eastern Montana
Therefore, it be resolved: MACD supports the State of Montana and the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks efforts to delist the grizzly bear and return its management to the state wildlife agency. Be it further resolved: MACD will also support Governor Gianforte’s efforts to exclude eastern Montana from any grizzly bear recovery plans.

Therefore, NACD supports removing Conservation Leasing from the Bureau of Land Management proposed Public Lands Rule BLM-1004-AE92.

That MACD will work towards a process that would allow Montana’s Conservation Districts to transfer reserved surface water rights to regular Montana State water rights once a project is complete and water has been put to beneficial use if the district chooses.

The MACD recommends that MAR include the following disclosure on all residential, commercial, and vacant land offers to purchase:
“Natural Water Bodies and Land Preservation Disclosure: Buyers of property in the State of Montana should be aware that some properties contain or are adjacent to streams, rivers, wetlands, floodplains and other water bodies. It is the general policy of the State of Montana, under the Montana Natural Streambed and Land Preservation Act of 1975 (310 Law), that natural water bodies and the lands immediately adjacent to them are to be protected and preserved to be available in their natural or existing state, and to prohibit unauthorized projects related thereto. Property owners should consult their local Conservation District, a land use professional, or other qualified advisor, regarding any applicable local, state or federal regulations, including permitting or other approvals, before working in or around any streams, rivers, wetlands, floodplains or other water bodies, including vegetation removal.”
23-01: A resolution to coordinate reuse of infrastructure materials
Therefore be it resolved that MACD will coordinate the development of a procedural template that conservation districts can use to work with state and local governments to encourage contractors of infrastructure projects to coordinate with local CD’s to distribute materials to local producers and landowners.
