It’s that time of the year for CDs to consider using the permissive mill levy to provide health benefits to their employees. A permissive mill levy is used for group benefits such as group hospitalization, health, medical, surgical, life, and other similar and related group benefits provided to officers and employees of political subdivisions, including flexible spending account benefits and payments in lieu of group benefits. In this session districts will learn the process and timeline for implementing the permissive mill levy.
About the trainer: Nancy Everson is the Governmental Finance Director for the Montana Association of Counties (MACo). Her focus is on budgeting and accounting issues for Montana Counties.
