Missoula County Department of Ecology and Extension is hosting a four-part series to provide an educational opportunity for landowners, applicators, recreators, and other stakeholders on the when, where, and why of herbicide use. This educational series will cover both terrestrial and aquatic applications and highlight the importance of understanding the potential environmental impacts of this treatment strategy. It is also an opportunity for applicators to earn continuing education credits.
Terrestrial and Riparian Herbicide Applications
The third session of Missoula County’s herbicide webinar series is a presentation by Jeffrey Pettingill focused on terrestrial and riparian applications for herbicide. This presentation will cover small-scale terrestrial application considerations such as weed identification, seasonality, weather conditions, chemical options, and PPE basics. Additionally, this presentation will describe how to differentiate between irrigation corridors and riparian areas to limit non-target impacts of terrestrial herbicide use.
