US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Bureau of Reclamation (BOR)
- Both the EPA and BOR will be distributing federal infrastructure funding for improvements related to drought, water, and general watershed health. The EPA will direct $63 million in funding to the state of Montana in 2022 for wastewater and drinking water infrastructure projects under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The funding – part of a $50 billion investment nationwide – will be distributed through the agency’s State Revolving Fund programs. The EPA is encouraging states to use these funds to address disproportionate environmental burdens in historically underserved communities across the country. More details are forthcoming
- The BOR will distribute billions in BIL funding nationwide for drought contingency planning, water recycling, dam safety, water storage and conveyance, groundwater storage, rural water projects, and general watershed health. The BOR hosted a series of one-hour information sessions on their funding. The recordings are now available online here. Each session highlighted different types of infrastructure funding.
