Missoula County Department of Ecology and Extension is hosting a four-part series to provide an educational opportunity for landowners, applicators, recreators, and other stakeholders on the when, where, and why of herbicide use. This educational series will cover both terrestrial and aquatic applications and highlight the importance of understanding the potential environmental impacts of this treatment strategy. It is also an opportunity for applicators to earn continuing education credits.
Aquatic Herbicide Case Studies
For the second session of Missoula County’s herbicide webinar series, Jon Gosselin will be presenting an overview of aquatic herbicide application. Gosselin will discuss the methods, modes of action, monitoring efforts, and regulations of aquatic herbicides. This presentation will focus on real-life examples of aquatic herbicide applications highlighting several different species and water body types. Additionally, he will touch on the EPA’s role, the state registration process, approvals, permits, and notifications for aquatic herbicide use.
