Each attendee will participate in several take-home lessons and receive a free Project WILD curriculum guide and other materials to utilize in the classroom.
Guest speakers also include FWP non-game biologist Amanda Hall and technician Ella Engelhard, who will explain the work FWP does with bats, and provide several take-home lessons on bats that teachers can use during Bat Week on Oct. 24-31.
Ryan Schmaltz of Helena’s Montana WILD education center will lead some of the hands-on activities, which include fish identification, fish dissection, Gyotaku Japanese fish printing, fish math and water distribution.
This workshop will offer OPI renewal credits and show educators how to integrate fish and wildlife education into their classrooms.
The workshop will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Miles Community College’s Room 106. The college is located at 2715 Dickinson St. Lunch will be provided.
