Lauren Smith

Lauren Smith joined MACD as the Events & Outreach Coordinator in 2026. After earning a masters degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana, she has worked in nonprofit communications for disability and environmental nonprofits in Montana. She has a background in science communication, nonfiction writing, and bird research (mostly songbird banding and bird surveys). Lauren can often be found outside, where she enjoys exploring trails, climbing rocks, and birding.
