Revenue Interim Committee Publishes Property Tax Brochure

Conservation districts receive a portion of their funding through local mill levies. The Revenue Interim Committee created a residential property tax brochure as part of its House Joint Resolution 36 study of the residential property tax. The brochure:

• explains how property taxes are calculated and the roles of the state and local governments;
• provides information on the distribution of property tax revenue; and
• summarizes property tax assistance programs.

The brochure is available for viewing online or may be printed and publicly distributed.
