These tools will assist boaters in CLEANING off any mud or debris\, DRAINING standing water\, and thoroughly DRYING all types of watercrafts between uses. ISAN and WMCC will also be helping boaters use the lake’s brand new CD3 unit to ensure their gear is free of invasive species. The CD3 unit features a large brush\, hose\, vacuum\, and everything else boaters need to thoroughly clean all their water toys. Hosted in partnership with Pheasants Forever\, the Montana Conservation Corps\, the Montana Association of Conservation Districts\, the Bureau of Land Management\, and the MWCC Watershed Fund\, this event will feature the practice of adding simple\, low-cost structures to riverscapes to mimic the functions and processes of healthy watersheds. It will also include information on what LTPBR resources may be available in other communities. Travel stipends available\, and lunch will be provided. More details to come! SUMMARY:Capacity-Building Workshop with MWCC and Future West
DESCRIPTION:Increasing the Sustainability and Impact of Our Work\nFuture West and the Montana Watershed Coordination Council invite local conservation leaders to attend an in-person capacity-building workshop on Thursday\, May 19\, 2022\, in Virginia City. We will focus on increasing the sustainability and impact of our work\, including building stronger relationships to achieve local conservation goals. Included in the workshop will be an optional gathering the evening of May 18 to get to know one another and get our collective\, creative juices flowing. \nWatershed groups\, conservation districts\, tribal governments and tribal partners\, and municipal governments are invited to attend. The workshop will take place in an outdoor venue\, and we will follow Covid-19 protocols as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control at that time. In recent years\, we’ve also been joined by natural agency directors for to learn about opportunities to collaborate and support shared watershed conservation objectives. \nSave the date\, February 24\, for the 2022 Annual Meeting (9:00-12:00pm). This online event will provide an opportunity for MWCC and our partners to provide information about federal funding initiatives aimed at supporting watershed health efforts in Montana. Additionally\, we will present on MWCC’s accomplishments from the previous year and report on our upcoming activities that will support watershed communities in 2022.
