Both wildlife and enforcement staff will be at the meeting to answer questions from the public. This year\, FWP\, along with various agency partners\, will host a greater short-horned lizard bioblitz from June 21 to June 28 in conjunction with national efforts through the Horned Lizard Conservation Society (HLCS). \nFWP will also host a free\, all-ages kickoff event for the bioblitz on Thursday\, June 19\, at the Billings office (2300 Lake Elmo Dr.) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. At this event\, FWP staff will give a presentation on the biology of greater short-horned lizards\, provide information on where to look for these lizards\, and lead a tutorial on using iNaturalist. The park\, which includes a 64-acre reservoir\, trails and fishing pier\, is consistently one of the most visited state parks in Montana. Visitors can walk\, paddle and fish at this park just minutes from downtown Billings. \nLake Elmo\, however\, is lacking a long-term recreation plan. FWP staff are developing a recreation plan for the park and want to hear directly from Lake Elmo users and neighbors as the plan is developed.
