17-01: Promote Agency Policies to Limit the Spread of Invasive Species

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that MACD request that all state and federal regulatory agencies have written policies in place for cleaning vehicles, equipment and watercraft that travel off-road or move to different waterbodies, to minimize chances of spreading invasive species when performing field work; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that MACD work with agencies to ensure that a periodic review of policies, practices and implementation take place, with the goal being to lead by example to better protect our natural resources from terrestrial and aquatic invasive species.

12-07: Encourage NRCS to Provide Technical Support for Montana Range Days

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, NRCS State Conservationist and her staff are encouraged to continue their technical support to all natural resource outreach and educational events to the fullest extent possible;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, MACD Board of Directors work with the NRCS State Conservationist and staff to ensure that adequate support is available for NRCS to continue to assist with Montana Range Days and all other natural resource educational activities and outreach events.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Montana Association of Conservation Districts (MACD) work with the Natural Resources Conservation Service to develop specifications and policy within the scope of the FOTG that will allow NRCS planners with appropriate job approval to plan and allow the cost sharing of these practices on cropland when there is a natural resource benefit to do so.
