Grants up to $500\,000 will be available for projects that reduce wildfire risk and improve forest health through active management on state\, county\, Tribal\, and private land\, and federal land through the Good Neighbor Authority program. \nOnline applications open September 19 and will be accepted through November 6. Additional information will be available when applications open. Funds are available through the State Fire Suppression Fund and will continue the implementation of the Montana Forest Action Plan. \nProjects should focus on bringing together partners to work collaboratively across ownership boundaries. Proposed projects should address at least one of the following:\n– Forest health\n– Wildfire risk\n– Working forests and economies\n– Biodiversity and habitat\n– Human and community health\n– Urban and community forests \nFireSafe Montana\nTri-County FireSafe Working Group\nMontana Association of Conservation Districts\nMontana Logging Association\nMontana State University Extension Forestry \nThe Nature Conservancy in Montana \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
