The public is invited to share local information and perspectives about how water is being used now and what local needs may be in the future. \nThe Task Force was set up in October 2024 by the International Joint Commission (IJC) to identify gaps in current reporting on water by Canada and the US\, in consideration of the IJC’s responsibilities under the 1948 Reference from governments. \nThe Poplar River and Big Muddy Creek are transboundary waters that flow between the province of Saskatchewan in Canada and the state of Montana in the United States. \nThe IJC\, which is a body set up by the governments of Canada and the United States\, was established by the Boundary Waters Treaty of 1909 to help the governments of Canada and the United States prevent and resolve disputes over use of the waters shared by the two countries. \nThere is no virtual attendance option for the June 10 and 11 meetings.
