DESCRIPTION:MEPA Working Group\nJune 27\, 2024 \n04:00pm \nZoom Registration  \nThe MEPA Workgroup convened by DEQ in January 2024 has released its draft final report for public review and comment. Over the past five months\, the workgroup met to discuss some of the biggest perceived challenges associated with implementation of the Montana Environmental Policy Act (MEPA). The workgroup heard presentations from DEQ staff and individual members\, considered public comment\, and discussed key challenges\, barriers\, and potential solutions. The report contains 12 detailed recommendations for consideration by state policymakers. Though the workgroup focused most of its attention on DEQ and DEQ’s implementation of MEPA\, these recommendations may apply to multiple state agencies. \nThe recommendations included in this report do not reflect full consensus from the workgroup.
