The Leopold Conservation Award, named after Aldo Leopold, celebrates exceptional voluntary conservation efforts, inspiring other landowners and fostering public awareness of the importance of private working land in conservation. The award honors landowners dedicated to improving their land, embodying Leopold’s land ethic.

Recipients receive $10,000 and a crystal award, with the program facilitated in partnership with Sand County Foundation, American Farmland Trust, and state partners including the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation and the Montana Rangeland Resources Committee.
